When you have flaky skin, exfoliating is not the way to get rid of it. The issues is not the skin that is flaky, but rather the dryness/irritation.⁠
To hold in moisture and to keep irritants out, our skin requires a stronger barrier. You break that barrier and make the flakiness worse by exfoliating too much.⁠
