Please share this info with your family and friends!!!

Cleaning your clothes at home may not be effectively remove all your germs/microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses.

For example the flu viruses...

According to the CDC, flu viruses are killed by heat above 167°F.
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/resource-center/images/multi-language-pdfs/contamination_cleaning_english_508.pdf

Most of the boilers/hot water in your house runs at 120-140°F.
https://www.thesimpledollar.com/save-money/turn-down-your-water-heater/

According to General Electric appliances, dryers on high heat will go to 135°F (145°F for 120V models).
https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=20985

With this information, it is very possible that there are still microorganisms still remaining on your clothes after a full wash and dry cycle done at home.

Adding bleach to your loads can help kill the viruses but you can not add bleach nor hot water towards your dark color loads. Bleach also isn’t the best towards clothing as it will breakdown the fibers of the clothing and weaken them over time.

Which means you may need to either change the settings on your boiler to raise the temperature to be above 167°F (don’t recommend to do this as anything above 120°F can significantly increase the risk of scalding) or find alternative cleaning.

If you aren’t aware, dry cleaning is the most effective way to get your clothes cleaned as it is able to tackle germs precisely because of the multilayered dry heat exposure of the clothing that would kill most microorganisms left in the fabric. Any high heat dry cleaning or drying for about 30 minutes is the surest and most effective way to kill various bacteria and viruses.

Here at Sun Ray Cleaners, we have the most state of the art dry cleaning machines currently out on the market, which will ensure the best and thorough cleaning of your garments. Not only this, we have just confirmed with the manufacturers of our dry cleaning machine that the heating temperature is and has been currently set to 170°F (which flu viruses will not be able to survive in.) However, it is possible that some dry cleaner machines don’t have their heat temperature set above 167°F, which may not fully kill all flu viruses. Also, we can not fully state that our process will kill off Covid19 virus specifically as it is still new and more tests need to be done but based on statistics alone, we are confident in our efficient cleaning process.

Our customers have always been our number one priority. We are constantly monitoring the data and recommendations from the CDC and WHO and update our practices as needed. If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to contact us at anytime.

Your loving cleaners,

Sun Ray❤️

“In light of developments regarding COVID-19, we want to proactively provide details and additional transparency around our cleaning processes.

First, according to Harvard Health, there is currently no evidence that COVID-19 can be transmitted from soft surfaces like fabric or carpet to humans. In addition, our cleaning agents and practices are designed to kill viruses such as the common cold and flu. While scientific information is still developing, we have no reason to believe that our processes are ineffective against COVID-19.

The teams in our fulfillment centers will continue to use a variety of techniques to ensure that each garment is thoroughly cleaned, steamed and pressed, inspected for quality, and carefully packaged so that it arrives ready to wear. All garments go through a wet or dry cleaning process. They also go through an additional steaming process which heats items to between 248°F and 302°F with the exception of faux fur, select outerwear, leather and faux leather garments, which still go through our standard cleaning processes. According to the CDC, flu viruses are killed by heat above 167°F. Every garment is then enclosed in plastic for protection and cleanliness, which we ask customers to return for recycling.

Our customers have always been our number one priority. We will continue to monitor the data and recommendations from the CDC and WHO and update our practices as needed.”

Dry cleaning kills viruses! 😱😱😱😎👍

Did you know dry cleaning is the most effective way of cleaning your clothes?

Cleaning clothes at home:

“The amount of water, detergent and the water temperature in the machine means nothing. Skin, respiratory or gut infection causing molds, viruses, bacteria, that commonly cause flu, colds, stomach flu, skin rashes, and even more serious conditions often easily survive repeated wash cycles.”

Dry cleaning:

“Dry cleaning is able to tackle germs precisely because of the multilayered dry heat exposure of the clothing that would literally kill most organisms left in the fabric. Any high heat dry cleaning or drying for about 30 minutes is the surest and most effective way to kill various bacteria and viruses.”

Here at Sun Ray Cleaners, we have the most state of the art dry cleaning machines currently out on the market, which will ensure the best and thorough cleaning of your garments.
