Thanks so much for Hubby's birthday wishes yesterday. No, he didn't get tires for his birthday πŸ˜…, but he fixed us a nice dinner (his favorite) followed by German Chocolate Cake and some much needed rest. Today was all about things he wanted to do and tomorrow, it's back to work. Our next art show, Garden Jubilee, in Hendersonville, NC is coming up May 23 & 24.

My Hubby.....kind of avoids the camera just like me, lol. Artist, dog Dad, maker, fixer, builder, picker, always busy and one of the hardest working people I know. Anyway, today is his birthday and probably not the best one ever.

Yesterday, about two miles from home (after working all afternoon at our booth), we had a tire blow out on our truck. Once again, we were very lucky. At least it didn't happen when we were in Georgia for our art show (where we lost our tent), or last week when we were out on our pickin' trip. He's spent all morning searching the computer, shopping for tires 🫀.

Later he'll get the birthday dinner he requested, grilled chicken sandwiches....which HE will fix because that's his thing, lol. He didn't ask for cake, but just maybe he'll get fudge for dessert πŸ˜‰.

Today was the first time we'd been to our booth in a week and 🀯 it was pretty much a train wreck. We had a good excuse though, we spent a few days on the road looking for some more amazing vintage finds.

We took in a full truck load today and spent most of the afternoon reworking the booth. We added a couple of really great store display pieces (including a double-sided hardware cubby), more artwork, and a ton of smalls. We also took care of our expanded corner on the front end of the booth. We're stocked up and ready for a great weekend, so stop on by and see what's new in the booth.

We finally got the truck unloaded today and I had good intentions of showing you everything once it was cleaned up, BUT we had a little excitement instead.

We were at the shop, washing up some pretty grubby store display pieces when we first heard the low humming noise. Then it got louder and louder. We kept looking up into the trees, trying to find the source, and then they appeared in the yard just above our washing table 😬.

I called around until I found someone to come out and check to see if they were indeed honeybees. (Thank you for telling me they were Killer Bees, lol). By the time the guy came, the bees had settled on a limb about 20' up in a tree.

It took a while, but he finally got most of them, and hopefully the Queen. If not, he'll be back for round 2.

Things are happening at the !

Well actually, our booth restock happened yesterday, but I was so distracted by the new corner markers that I completely forgot to take photos πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. Do you see what's happening here? We're getting a little more space. That may not look like a big difference to some of you, but to us it's HUGE. The math makes our booth sound SO much bigger now 😬.

That said, we're taking off for a couple days of finding the stuff. We're very optimistic, so we brought the truck, lol. Hopefully I'll have a chance to post a few sneak peeks along the way. Meanwhile, swipe for a look at a few things we picked up already.

Rescued from the garage of an extreme hoarder, this vintage bamboo table had definitely seen better days. The graveled flower design was what first caught my eye. The surface was so dry it was almost grey in color and I actually wondered if it was beyond saving....but I had to try.

A little TLC and look at it now. Heading to the today as part of our booth restock (along with some other pretty cool stuff πŸ˜‰).

"Saving the past one piece at a time", that's what we do.

I'm ready....are you? The weekend may have been a little rough in one place, but it was rockin' & rollin' at the . We sold a few of my favorite pieces so you know what that means. 1). A booth restock is coming up and 2). Time to get shopping πŸ˜‰. Let's do this.

If you saw my previous post, you already know how our day went so I'm not going to rehash that. Anyway, we made the decision to leave early.

When we chose to participate in outdoor shows (30+ years ago), we knew there was a real possibility something like this could (and would) happen eventually. This was our worst weather related event to date. What bothered me the most about today was the number of people (including other artists) who asked why we didn't stay.

At 8:30 this morning, when we accessed the situation, it was decided that we would leave. Our tent was destroyed but that's not even why we left. The fact is, while we actually had only had one piece of art broken, almost everything else had some degree of damage, including scrapes, scratches and dents. I knew Hubby would not sacrifice his creative integrity by selling pieces that were not up to his standards. That's it. We left.

We truly appreciate everyone's comments, well wishes and condolences. Thank you for being here and caring 🌼.
