When roaming the streets of Delhi near the shelter I was serving in, I saw this precious little girl sitting outside her home. She saw my camera and asked for a "click-click", which I assumed meant a photo. Even though I wasn't sure how great her english was, I said "strike a pose!" and this is the shot I got!

I showed it to her afterwards, and the smile on her toothless grin was even better than this photo.

Not sure when I'll be back in Delhi, but here's to hoping it's sooner rather than later 🧡

Some humbling words that hit deep in my gut.

I think about the times that friends, family, and relationships have failed me. How the concept of continuing to love them seems impossible in those moments. The feelings like "they don't deserve my love because of what they've done" - like I'm some ruler who sits on a throne and passes out "love" like it's only mine to give.

Except that I'm not some ruler - I'm more-so some failure. I have my own spouts of failing others, and most importantly, of failing God.
Believe me, I've failed God before I was a Christian, and I've failed God as a Christian.

Yet, He still loves me.
He still believes that I deserve that love, even though I know I really don't.
And He still chooses to love me every day and even after every failure.

As a newly-wed, I've learned about this concept of love and how its not all butterflies and unicorns. It may feel like it at first, but really it's a choice. It's a decision to choose to love someone during the good, the bad, and the ugly.

It's a choice to stay and to not give up, no matter what.

This is exactly the love that God gives. It's a choice that He's choosing daily to love us despite our failing and undoing.

His love never fails.
It never gives up.
It chooses to stay.

And for that, I am deeply humbled, grateful, joyful, and a thousand times thankful.

So yes, I cant brag about my love for God because I fail Him daily.
But I can brag about God's love for me because it never fails. 🧡

Reminiscing on past items from the shop 💭

A fun fact : This is a Turkish coffee maker, aka a "cezve"!

It is typically made with fine coffee, and the process is a little different than our American customs.

You boil water, add sugar, then add in the coffee and boil twice! This creates a really fun foam on the top that can either be poured out or left in.

This process reminded me of how they make Chai (tea) in India, except that they boil everything together all at once (tea leaves, sugar, milk, spices), strain it and serve!

I've never been able to recreate it quite right, so I think I'll leave the coffee-making to my french press 😂

Cannot wait to see these kiddos again soon!

For those of you who don't know, I'm heading back to Bolivia to help build a church in Hierba Buena!

I always travel with the organization, Think Missions, an organization that's built over 492 churches worldwide.

Out of those 492, I've been blessed to have been apart of 5 (soon to be 6!) of those church builds.

As someone who is a mission-junkie, I'd highly recommend a trip like this one to anyone who is looking to go on their first mission trip. It's one week of building, a kids VBS, the best views and the best cáfe!

I plan on using this platform as more than just a shop, but a resource and place of encouragement about missions. I hope to either inspire you to go on a mission trip, or take you with me on one 🧡

Picture this; you order something from the holy-land of Ikea. The wait is over, and that dresser you saw on Pinterest is finally on your doorstep. You open the box to see a 1,000 different parts and pieces. Wonderful. But hey, you consider yourself an honorary Ikea master-builder, so this should be easy-peasy. You grab the instructions and see the beautiful photo printed on top of what your piece will look like when it's finished and put together. You look back again at all those pieces and in one confident motion, you toss that instruction manual to the side.

We all know how this turns out, and it ends with a slightly lopsided dresser with extra screws and bolts. But bless your heart, you tried.

I feel like this happens a lot in life. We're humans, we've been through a lot. So, naturally, we think we can do life without the instruction manual. But let's be real - it never ends well.

That's why it's so important to not just "listen" to the Word of God, but also take it a step further and apply it to our lives - "do" it.

In James it says, "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." Another version says, "But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves."

As believers, we are called to actually live out our faith. We are called to be "doers", not just "hearers".

In my walk in Christ, there's been so many moments where I've "heard" God's word whispered into my little ear, or read it on the pages of this precious book. Moments like "hey, don't go that way", or "hey, don't say that thing", or my personal favorite "hey, don't date that guy".

In those moments, I know deep down what God is instructing me to do. But it's always my choice on whether I want to follow it or not. I think we've all been in these positions before, and maybe you're in one right now. So let me assure you that you are not alone. Let me encourage you to lean into what God is speaking to you through His word and make the effort to apply it to your life.

God wrote the instruction manual Himself, I think He knows what He's doing. All we have to do is read those instructions and apply it to the Ikea dresser of our lives 🧡

Mountain House is officially open!! *cue happy dance*

Head on over to the Etsy shop (link in bio) to shop for this beauty, and more!

This collection turned out to be very Parisian-inspired, which is a style I've fallen in love with over the past couple months. Lots of porcelain, vintage art, and brass accents - made in a variety of countries like India & Italy.

I hope this collection brings a purpose and story to your home 🤍

Welcome to Mountain House 🤍
____

Mountain House is a collection of well-traveled decor for the home + heart.

This collection is all about casual elegance, placing an emphasis on mixing + matching the old and new.

I love this style because it allows for vintage and antique items to act as art pieces in each space, with every item creating a story and purpose.

I want each piece to transport people in their own homes - creating a calming, elegant, and well-traveled feel all at once.

With each purchase of any piece in the collection, you are not only transforming your home, but transforming the lives of others. 10% of the proceeds from this shop goes towards missionaries serving in third-world countries.

I am so excited to open the doors up again to this shop! Etsy shop will be live by 6PM tomorrow.

Thank you for stopping by! 🤍

This. Piece.

A stunning replica of Leonardo di Vinci's "The Last Supper".

Fun fact, I actually passed this one up originally but then could not stop thinking about it! It was one of those I-should-have-bought-that moments. Miraculously, it was still there when I went back!

It is truly a beautiful piece, made in Italy, and has the option to hang or display.

Because of the nature of this item, there are minor blemishes and signs of aging, but I think it only adds to the character of the piece!

If it were mine, *silently takes listing off Etsy* I'd style it as a display on a bookshelf, or among other pieces of art in a gallery wall.

I cant wait to see how it's lucky owner styles it in their home 🤍

See it in the collection coming 03.28.23 at 6PM (EST) on Etsy.
