Spent the week working on this for a miniskirt made of glitter stretch denim remnants from - sanded out the design with a rotary tool (and used 2 main attachments to achieve thin lines vs shading) then bleached my primary lines with a thin brush (undiluted) and added shading detail by bleaching with a larger brush (50/50 water and bleach solution).

I'm not the greatest 2d illustrator in the world so this design was a labor of love for me, and I managed to avoid creating any rips in the (very thin) material from sanding and bleaching! The fish wraps around the back, and I will be working on hemming and adding my zipper/waistband this weekend as well as playing with the idea of strategically placed rhinestones

I'm incredibly proud that this drawing came out so beautifully, to be entirely honest - I was not sure about it at the beginning but you can swipe through to see the steps from conception to realization. I'm working on sewing a matching top as well using koi printed cotton fabric from another shop 🤏🏿🙂‍↕️💅🏿

Many moons later and revitalized by the 21st season of , I made the Shelley soft and the Shelley for myself this past week! It's a scandalously elevated two-piece set I'm planning to wear for a future special event, fits like a glove, and is 100% handmade & hand-beaded. Because of the skirt's beachy vibe, I went with a shell-inspired shape on top and hanging pearl beads 💅🏿
I've decided to not pursue the monetization of every skill & hobby under the sun, and will be focusing on making cute outfits for myself whenever creativity strikes moving forward (to reach my goal of a robust, 90% self-made wardrobe in 15 years or less). I've also changed the page name hopefully for the last time, to the Yorùbá word "dàgbà", which means "to have/be grown."
