My family let me loose in Edinburgh today and I *somehow* found my way to a tiny but fantastic yarn shop full of local and/or otherwise unfamiliar-to-me brands - perfect for souvenir yarn. I picked up enough yarn for a sweater and some colorwork mittens, and a little project bag with a cartoon of the actual shop! So cute. 🥰🧶

My husband is working in the UK for several months, so I am across the pond on a visit! Since he’s working, I’ve been on my own during the days (glorious by the way) and I managed to arrange for a spinning class hosted by Rachel, the secretary of the Hallamshire Guild of Weavers, Spinners, and Dyers. She was so very generous with her time and talent. We spent 6 hours spinning with different wheels and fibers. I’m totally hooked. What an amazing day!

I'll be holding a Melt The Ice craft night this Tuesday, February 3, from 7-9pm at my studio in Lebanon Shops. Free to attend. I'll have the patterns, red yarn, and needles available for purchase if you need materials, but there is no obligation.

Anyone up for a Melt The Ice knit along?

I’ve got lots of red and red-adjacent yarns available at the studio, and you can purchase the pattern yourself on ravelry or through me when in person (I’ll have printed copies here if you purchase through me, but it’s optional - either way it pays the pattern designer through ravelry.)

I also have 16” circular needles available for purchase if you need them, as well as other notions.

I’d be happy to set up some daytime and/or evening times to get together to knit. If you’re interested just message me and we’ll figure it out.
