Would you wear paper as jewelry?
Back in the day I used to peel paper using water to paste little earrings on.
As a poor little black girl I knew of many ways to make something fashionable.
But, it was called ugly. Who knew decades later it would become a form of art.
Moral of the story stay on your dream because paper could change your life!

Is this too many bracelets?
Back in the day, I remember stringing little things together just to make my style feel pretty.

And Girl, it was not pretty at all.
I was making beads out of spit paper and putting them on my ears like earrings. I was taking glued paper and wrapping it around my arm like I had made myself a slap watch.
Even then, kids laughed and said I was doing too much.
But as I got older , I learned how to string real beads together. That is when I started making my own arm candy bracelets.

And it never fails even on this day , somebody will say … ‘WOW’ I love it , but isn’t that too much jewelry to wear?
Not knowing I wear jewelry period just for me.
Accessories became part of my own personal confidence, part of my self-esteem and it’s part of the way I want to show up for myself.
Although, I am in a new era (the social media internet) where style / fashion changes every second on the clock.
I am still wearing what’s going to make sense to me, and I smile when my little ole’ cheap handmade jewelry is too much for someone else.

My favorite thing about style:
Style comes and goes but what I loved in my 20’s I still love in my 50’s. And I finally realize that’s my personal style.
Style is always evolving but sometimes it remains the same.
So, Wear What The FUNK You Want…. And that’s on every FUNKY thang.
