Today I walked up to One Main Street in Plymouth as I have almost every day since January 2025. But today the sign looked like this.

The idea for House Cat, both the name and the store, came to me while having coffee with Kayla and Mikayla - two of my favorite people on the planet and my first childhood besties/soul mates. I mentioned that if I really was to do the thing that I wanted most in life, I would be running my own Vintage joint. I said I wanted to open a space where everyone could find special, affordable things to curate their lives with.

Today, this place stands for everything I believe in: that (much like a well loved cat) we should feel at home in our skin and in our spaces, within our communities, and on our planet. That means caring for all of those things very, very dearly, dressing them up joyously and consciously, staying connected to them, and treating them as truly precious. Because they are.

CAT also happens to be my dad’s initials, and even though he’s not with us anymore, this place exists because of him. His dream was to eventually live the entrepreneur life, and today I’m proud to do that in his honor. Thank you to Zebra Visuals + Jaimee Reale!

I love it here. I love all of you who have been with me on this journey.

In typical Abby fashion, this transition from Sprezzatura to House Cat Vintage & Consignment will be kinda messy - but also quite fun! Right now, our website and contact information and consignment sign-up system still function the same. Eventually, our home on the web will catch up and bear our new name - but for now, I’m honored to still be associated with Sprezzatura. This shop is here today because of Christine, who in 2021 opened the most beautiful boutique with a mission to help all customers find pieces that made them feel confident and fabulous. She is the coolest person (find her now running the show and lifting up local businesses with Plymouth Downtown Waterfront District!) and I owe her so very much.

Cheers to the next era, cool cats. Thanks for doing it all with us 🐈‍⬛💕
