Stephanie wanted to repurpose her family vintage pearl and crystal comb into several accessories to suit her gorgeous, sleek wedding gown. The original comb was wide and rigid making it look a bit dated.

Stephanie’s restyled headpiece captured the essence of the original, while being light and flexible to style in her hair. Two beautiful minimalist hair pins created from a fabric remnant of her gown, accented her classic bridal bun hairstyle. Hand sewing her custom Bregine style veil to her new bridal accessory gave her the simple but classic look she hoped for.

There were enough crystals and pearls leftover to create accessories for her family. I absolutely love creating fresh new styles from pieces once loved.

Emily wanted to restyle her mother’s 1988 bridal headpiece into something beautiful to wear on her wedding day.

Repurposing her mom’s 80s headpiece into a beautiful wedding veil was a remarkable transformation. I removed and cleaned the heavily glued lace from her vintage teardrop cap, restored the original tulle, and restructured the two tier-veil into a romantic lace mantilla-style wedding veil. I preserved the original designer label, “Marie”, and sewed it to the inside of her new veil. How apropos, that her restyled veil is designed by Marie!

I loved working with Carla Marie to restore and restyle her mom's 1985 headpiece for her church ceremony. She met Anthony, the man she would marry, while working on Elvis Duran and The Morning Show on z100. The whole story is on this month's blog.

Brianne wanted to repurpose her mom’s 1989 headpiece and veil into bridal accessories for her wedding. There were enough vintage elements to design a hairpiece for her ceremony, headband for her rehearsal dinner, and hairpins for her bridesmaids. I used the extra pearls from her mom’s 80s piece to adorn her floor length Bregine style custom wedding veil.

Sanna’s heirloom wax flower crown is the oldest bridal headpiece I have worked on. It is remarkable that she had a photo of her great-grandmother wearing it on her wedding day in 1924.

Wax flower crowns face many challenges; fragile deteriorated frames, missing and broken wax florals, and oxidized stamens. Restoring wax flower headpieces requires knowledge, skill, and patience.

Sanna wanted to restore it closely to the original crown but be able to wear in a modern fashion for her wedding. I restored it and then restyled it into a headband.

Her custom drop veil draped effortlessly over her newly restored wax flower headpiece. Sanna looked like a bride from a fairytale.

Emily sent us her grandmother’s old, discolored, and stained headband she wore on her wedding day many years ago. It lacked structure due to a broken band. Her relationship with her grandmother was very special, and she wanted to use it somehow for her wedding day. I knew repurposing this vintage headpiece would be challenging but had incredible potential. Transforming it from an old headpiece to a set of new gorgeous floral hairpins was something Emily never imagined.
