Happy Homecoming from me and my favorite girl Tia Ayo.
I began my journey at the best
HBCU...Thee Southern University in Fall of '88. I had so much fun hanging out at Steward Hall and had the pleasure of working with some of the most beautiful people in Financial Aid. Unfortunately, after three and a half years of studies and changing my major 3-4 times(Fashion Merchandising, Physics, I was offered a scholarship, Business Management, Mathematics) I never completed my degree even though I have enough credit hours but not enough in one concentrated area. The question is ...shall I return???
My daughter, Tia Ayo, received her bachelors degree in Spring '15 in Speech Language Pathology. Thanks to Thee Southern University A&M Collge she is thriving as a Speech Therapist by working with kids with autism, dyslexia and behavior issues. Some people thought I was too hard on her but I was determined that my story would never become her story as I never truly knew what I wanted to become career wise.
After creating the Different World graphics, Tia requested pumps because she didn't wear Jordans and I decided to request Nina's. Nina's were our shoes in the late '80's and early '90's. Only fashionistas wore Nina's. lol
Thank you Southern University for our rich HBCU experience! We bleed blue & gold. ๐๐
