12 years ago, we took a leap of faith and turned a dream into reality. We had no idea how it would turn out. All we knew was that we had to try. And boy, are we glad we did.

Today, SoSis looks different. No storefront, different operations, and a different kind of hustle. But if 12 years of business has taught us anything, it's that success doesn't always look the way you imagined. You can hustle until the wheels fall off, pour your heart into something, and still find that profitability doesn't match the effort. That's not failure. That's business. That's growth. That's knowing when to pivot, push, and give yourself permission to do things differently.

We're incredibly proud of what we've learned and where those lessons have led us. AC is now Executive Director of the , advocating for and elevating businesses. Chel has built her own marketing consulting business, helping small businesses grow. Neither opportunity would look the same without SoSis.

We've been in the trenches. We know the sacrifices, late nights, big wins, and tough decisions. We've lived it, and now we get to use that experience to help others.

God had a plan all along. Sometimes it's just hard to see when you're knee-deep in the trenches, figuring out your next move.

Through it all, one thing hasn't changed: community will ALWAYS be more important than competition. And hey, competition isn't bad! It challenges us, inspires us, and makes us better. There's room for all of us. Support each other, collaborate, celebrate each other's wins, and watch what happens when we work together.

Here's to 12 years of SoSis. The dream that started it all, the people who believed in us, customers who became friends, lessons we never saw coming, and doors that opened because we were brave enough to try.

It hasn't always been easy or pretty, but it's been worth it. Happy 12 years, SoSis. You'll always be so much more than a store to us. 💛

SoSis + Annie Claire Designs will be at the Ultimate Tailgate this Saturday in Perkins Rowe! It’s one we haven’t missed since inception and it’s one you shouldn’t miss either. Sweet Baton Rouge does an amazing job curating and planning this event to be so special.

It’s a HOT one, but I can promise you will find alllll the game day garb your heart desires. You gotta come see what it’s all about!

One thing we love? A good scarf. Especially when it's created by a talented Louisiana artist like Leslie Charleville. Known for her iconic alligator artwork, Leslie has expanded her collection with these beautiful cotton and silk scarves that are equal parts art and accessory. We especially love them styled with an Annie Claire Designs chain necklace (swipe for inspiration!) or layered with your favorite chunky jewelry for an effortless statement look.

A little about Leslie: She specializes in the 17th-century Japanese art form of gyotaku, or fish rubbing, a technique originally used by fishermen to document their catch. Over the years, Leslie has mastered this unique art form on fish, marine life, and even Louisiana's most beloved mascot—the alligator.

But for Leslie, the art is about more than the finished piece. As she shares, "The art is secondary to the message I want to leave with people. More than anything, I want folks to recognize that there's a Light on L. Charleville Studios that transcends this world. After all, it's not my talent to begin with. I just want to use it for good and make a difference in the lives of the people I encounter."
