Step 5: Weaving- the shafts are raised in a pattern (lifting the warp threads) and the shuttle wrapped with thread (called weft) is thrown back and forth with each change of the shafts.

Step 4: Tying onto the apron bar that is attached by the white tape to the front beam. This adds the tension needed to start weaving.

Step 1: A warping board has pegs set at yardage increments. The thread is measured then cut which forms the individual threads of the towel.

The weaving shop is almost set up. I hope to have one of these warped in the next few weeks.

The loom is unfortunately in storage due to our small quarters until we find a house we like. In the meantime, the spinning wheel has finished this lovely green wool for a sweater for the hubby.

But plans are being hatched for new kitchen towels when we get a new kitchen!!
