You can imagine my “Minnesota Vintage” heart is breaking a little.

BREAKING: The woman murdered by ICE has been identified as Renee Good, age 37.

She leaves behind a young son whose father passed away a few years ago.

“There’s nobody else in his life,” Timmy Ray Macklin Sr., the boy’s grandfather, told the Minneapolis Star. “I’ll drive. I’ll fly. To come get my grandchild.”

Her mother swears she wasn’t involved in any protesting.

“Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known,” she said. “She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”

Renee will be missed, and may she rest in peace. Justice must be served against her killer - and against all the people responsible for siccing these goons on innocent people.

It’s been a busy week for me at Josephine’s - taking out all the Christmas goodies and setting up for a brand new year! I have to thank our customers for their continued support. I am so very grateful for our faithful locals and all the visitors who chose to shop at Josephine’s this season. After being closed the last couple days, the shop has made a pretty big transformation! Come check it out!

I did a little refresh last night, getting ready for the weekend. If you have shopping plans - Josephine’s, in downtown Port Orchard, is a great place to start! It has been a busy couple weeks! But it is worth it. Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year at the shop. I didn’t get a chance to do a post of pictures before our Gala at Josephine’s last weekend. But I’ve been in nearly every day since; fixing, fussing and filling every nook and cranny - and finally getting some pictures taken. If you are ready to get in the Christmas spirit - come visit us at Josephine’s. And as always, thank you so very much for continuing to support our small businesses ❤️.

I’ve been in my favorite corner of Minnesota, wearing my Nanny Kris hat, for the last three weeks with my favorite little girlies. This trip hasn’t given me any time to “treasure hunt”, but that’s okay. My storage is full and I’m ready to send fall out in style - I’ll start bringing loads of goodies into my Josephine’s space later this week! In the meantime, I have one more day to play with my farm girls😔. We did get to go to a Farm Flea Market - absolutely awesome setting!

I did a major refresh in my Minnesota Vintage space inside Josephine’s last night. And I must admit, I aways think I can get more done than I actually can🤣 Tonight is the second Port Orchard Night Market - so we will be open until 10:00 pm! What a perfect night to visit Port Orchard. The parking lot behind Josephine’s will be full of local artisans; music, a beer garden and food trucks, including: a taco truck, lumpia, smash burgers, ice cream, Kona Ice and more! The night market runs from 6:00 - 10:00pm.

So, I decided to accomplish something yesterday!! I know, it was a holiday - but that’s the best time to work! The shop is empty and I can make a huge mess - which always happens on the way to a new display. Come visit Port Orchard this weekend, Josephine’s vendors have been bringing in all kinds of new “old” stuff! And thanks, as always, for continuing to support our small businesses.
