It's been a busy couple of months. I blinked and somehow June has happened. Just wrapped up some angora blends. Currently in the mill is a silk and Merino blend in the pindrafter while we're putting the finishing touches on a silver Shetland and a dark Grey Gotland. Now if the weather could stay below 75.

A quick half penny mill tour! We are buried in Romney at the moment and its been wonderful to work with. First up on the left you can see the slide, once fleeces have been picked that's where they wait to go on the carder. Just past that is said carder, it traveled all the way from Italy along with our pindrafter and our spinner. Quite the boat trip. The pindrafter is just there on your right with cans waiting to be set up. And finally on your left is our spinner, it has 24 heads and the cans go behind it when the fiber is ready for spinning. Exit is to your right, don't forget to stop by the giftshop on your way out :D

What we've been working on in the mill! All the colors were dyed before they were sent to us along with fleeces to wash and blend with them. The pink! Is wensleydale and bombyx silk. The blue is Merino and angora rabbit. It was really fun to get to work with all the colors. I think we will be finding colored fluff in the mill for months.

With all the rain we've been hunkering down and getting to work. Recently in the mill! White Romney as it goes through the pindrafter. And a blend of alpaca, llama, and gotland just before it was washed. The blend fiber wasn't the easiest to work with but boy were the results worth it. We aren't near any rivers but the seasonal stream in one of our fields has made its appearance again.
