Well, the last 2 weeks have been an emotional up and down. Many tears shed with each piece of furniture or decor item that left the store-a little bit of me went with it. I put my heart and sole in to the boutique and Loved every minute of it.
I want to Thank all of you that came in to wish me well and offer hugs. Each and every hug I will forever cherish. Your support has meant the world to me. I have met so many people over the past 8 years. I remember the first time I met Cheri and Donna (aka Mom). It was for you a very rough time in life and I am so happy I was able to offer you a bit of laughter during that time. I will forever remember and cherish that, and the friendship that grew out of that visit.
Teresa who was a devoted regular and took Theresas Boutique on every vacation and wedding, you were the best dressed one there, and for all the times you shopped for the Minnesota family via the phone, Thank you for all you have done for the Boutique.
Carole S. You are such a joy to have met and did so much to spread the word of the boutique via texts to all your friends and so much more. I will cherish you forever.
To all of my regulars who supported me, voted for me to make me Best Boutique 3 years in a row-from the bottom of my heart Thank you so very very much, It was an honor to win and an Honor to have you vote for me and support the Boutique.
There are so many more of you that I could name and go on all night. Those that are dealing with illness in your house, know that I will continue to pray for you. I am blessed to have met and helped every one you find the right funeral outfit, wedding outfit, vacation wear, conference giving outfit to look professional, or whatever the occasion was. Thank you for trusting me to outfit you.
As for the reason of the store closing, to clear all speculation..
NO 100% Positively it did not have anything to do with my landlord or rent. He has been very gracious and accommodating. To all of those who came in to the store this past 2 weeks solely to walk up to me and say "did he raise the rent". I am not a gossiper so know that even if he had, it would have been my business and none of yours.
It is purely an economic decision with lack of community support. Rising costs to operate a business. Taxes, insurances, tarriffs, shipping, card processing fees, inventory, utlities, bags, tags, etc, etc, these all cost money. A small business does not have corporate paying their bills, I cannot buy in bulk and get a cheaper cost. Support Local, or there will be no Local isn't just a saying, its a fact. So remember that the next time you think a business is to expensive, or the next time you quibble about .40, or you tell the business owner "if you mark this down another $20 I will buy it, you have 2 of them" Or the grown adult who shoplifted-I hope you felt guilty every time you wore that top.
To Each and Every one of you that Faithfully supported the boutique in any way, From the deepest part of my heart Thank you, God Bless You.
