š¬ Why do the best short films disappear the second the algorithm stops caring?
š» Youāve probably got one already. A short film sitting on a hard drive thatās genuinely good, played a festival or two, got some nice comments, and then just vanished. Not because it wasnāt good enough. Because there was never anywhere for it to actually live.
š Thatās the part that got me. YouTube, TikTok and Instagram reward whatever keeps people scrolling, and a 12 minute short just isnāt built for that. Festivals give you a weekend of prestige and then the film goes right back to sitting on that hard drive.
š½ But the audience for these films is out there. People who want something that isnāt 15 seconds long and isnāt chasing a trend. They just donāt have anywhere to go find it.
š» Thatās what KATSO is. A home for short films and series that donāt fit anywhere else, landscape or vertical, whatever the story needs. Free to sign up, non-exclusive, creators keep 70% after fees. Actors get full profiles too, so the cast is part of the draw instead of credits nobody reads. Demo reel, mailing list, film tagging, a QR code that makes networking as easy as handing someone your phone.
š„š„š„ Still early. Androidās live, iOS is coming. Built this because I was tired of watching good work disappear.
