32-year old grails starting to wake up. They don’t make ‘em like they used to. Astonishing level of quality left in these, no separation, nothing crumbling, glue is holding. Just added the third coat of leather reconditioned as well as mink oil. Leather quality is great. I am curious if being stored in the climate of Kenya was ideal for preserving the condition. Probably going to leave the weathered and aged look to the leather. When it’s this old, and still holding together strong, the scars it has are a symbol of integrity. Not like new Nikes that are meant for a 1 year lifespan. Soles show the difference in restoration step 1. Right shoe passed over once with acetone meticulously applied by qtip.
