Hi Facebook! This summer has been so crazy busy! (Which is why it's been a while since I've posted anything). Here's a custom project I just completed: a beautiful wedding dress in purple silk dupioni. So many projects so little time! Stay tuned for photos from her actual wedding :)

While hemming a bride's maid dress the other day I wondered: "why is this taking so long?!" Turns out, there was about 30 feet of fabric in that hem's circumference! Need a visual? Here's the piece I cut off, draped around my car!

Altered a prom dress last week, and what did I find? O just some pencil shavings sewn inside the front bodice.. Totally visible.. Guess there's not much quality control on that production line :/

Taking in seams with piping? In a jacket with a full lining? O yes, it can be done. And yes, it is quite the long process. But look how good it turned out!

Last week I let out a sequin/bead covered dress! Didn't think that was possible? Check out these photos of the (1)original seam, (2)the seam after it's been let out, and (3)the seam covered back up with beads & sequins (which I stole from other places on the dress). And there's the happy customer in her prom dress! (And yes, she chose it because it resembled Elsa's dress in Frozen, aww!)

Goal accomplished: I finally organized all of my left over fabric! After 4 months of it sitting in a moving box and taking up too much space in my sewing room, I figured it was time :) Now that everything is properly labeled and in its place, I realize that I have lots of material I need to use up! So bring on the projects!!

This lovely Jana Marie fall dress is coming soon to Silhouette!! I'm also thinking of doing it in a solid color to make sure fall fashion isn't completely monochromatic :)) So excited! More pictures and fall garments to follow :)
