The culmination of a year's hard work comes down to one race; one chance to wear the rainbow stripes of the World Champion. And then it was Primoz. One beautiful stage where his RedBull BORA teammates helped control the chaos, and Roglic flew to the mountain tops. After almost two weeks of Ben O'Connor in the Red Jersey, it lands squarely on the solid shoulders of a past champion. Will Primoz hold on to this prize? It's his to lose, though with 1:54 over O'Connor and 2:20 over a splendid Enric Mas, it would require a serious catastrophe to see anyone else take the top step. What a wonderful Vuelta. WAtch the Queen stage tomorrow and revel in the ITT rolling into Madrid on Sunday.

As promised, this edition of La Vuelta is Bonkers! Triple digit heat in the first week with amazing climbs and powerful sprints. With today's big break by a well known Belgian (no spoilers here) the race seems to be even more unpredictable. What will week two bring? Cooler temps but more climbing. Keep Watching!

Everyone remembered that La Vuelta Espana started this weekend, right? The most dynamic and unpredictable Grand Tour of the year? Full disclosure: I was at a street fair and it took a Flemish cycling fan reminding me that Wout van Aert was just about to start his time trial. Thought it was next weekend...

Regardless, WATCH THIS RACE! After the breathtaking dominance by Tadej, it'll be great to watch a race that is truly up in the air. Watch the roads get really steep really quickly of the next three weeks. Vamos!

In one of the most storied Tours in, what, 10, 20 years, the brightest star has to be Biniam Girmay. He's found a way to win in every imaginable way on the roads of France. His team puts in the effort, but he often plays the wild card in the last 200 meters, finding his way through the churning maelstrom of the sprint finishes. Power, intelligence, and the nerve to take it to the line. He rides with the joy of a rider who has been through the hardest journey, just to find his success on the world's biggest stage! It helps us rememeber just how much we love to ride. Chapeau, Biniam! Keep that Green all the way to Nice! 🏆🚴🏿‍♂️

G.R.A.V.E.L!!!!! What a bonkers stage! I've been riding in gravel races since 2011, and can feel the exhaustion of the riders coming through the screen. The mental drain matches the physical, and you're wrecked at the end. Love it or hate it, gravel stages make for some exciting racing in a Grand Tour, reminding us why we love the thrill of racing to begin with.
