I am creating a makerspace for sewing, design, alterations, repairs, and music production in a 3,000 square foot space on Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard, a vibrant and trendy part of Portland. The funds I am seeking will help increase revenue, provide access to foot traffic, and give my business visibility in this creative neighborhood. I want to offer sewing and design instructions, lessons, rentals, host events, and involve people in the community. There is a need for sewing everywhere, and I want to follow that need by offering valuable services and opportunities for people to learn and grow.
My inspiration comes from the many opportunities available in my community and from my late mother, Naomi, a hard-working Jamaican whose faith and determination shaped my values. I work hard and pay attention to details, always striving to produce the best for my customers in a more professional setting. My associates and friends are motivated, hard workers, and together we have a lot to offer. I believe my business can change and enhance confidence, make your appearance great, and provide a relaxing atmosphere. People love interacting with my business because it benefits individuals and the community. I want to elevate my game and help people achieve their dreams.
Thank you for supporting my GoFundMe. I am getting closer to my dream of creating a makerspace on Southeast Hawthorne! I originally had a fundraiser for a similar project in Jamaica, but plans were halted due to Hurricane Melissa. Jamaica’s recovery will take some time, so I want to proceed with my plans here in Portland. Your support will help me help people and build an awesome community of artisans, developers, and creatives. There is a real need for a great creative space on Hawthorne Boulevard, and your support will make a difference.
