I wonder how many people will actually read this or just look at the pictures...
What you feed will grow.
So let me ask you a few very personal questions...
What are you feeding your mind?
What are you allowing your children to feed their mind with?
Is what you're allowing for yourself, your marriage and your children bringing you closer to the Lord or farther away?
The Lord gave me five words the other day that I wasn't quite sure what He wanted me to do with. But so far this week, they have fit perfectly in several situations. Like this one, for example...
What are you waiting for?
You see, after all those questions and honest answers, those five words fit ever so perfectly.
When it comes to surrendering our will for His way, we begin to see everything different. He begins to sprinkle His joy even on the tasteless foods we tend to consume, the ones we have no control over. Then He takes us to a place where the things we used to feed ourselves are no longer satisfying.
His Word says in James 4:1-5
[1] What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? [2] You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. [3] And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. [4] You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. [5] Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him.
My friends, the world will never be able to satisfy your hunger. You will crave more and more without ever being full. Following the world, taking your eyes off Jesus, not only makes you vulnerable to the enemy's schemes, but it cuts you off from the generous supply of grace the Bible talks about in verse 6.
When you invite the Lord to have HIS way, you see fruit, endless fruit, that looks like this:
Peace
Patience
Love
Joy
Kindness
Gentleness
Goodness
Faithfulness
Self-Control
If you're lacking in any of these areas, it's not because someone else isn't doing what they should for you, it's that you haven't allowed the LORD to do what only HE can do in your life.
So there's that question again...
What are you waiting for?
It's time for an evaluation.
These books below aren't new to the shop, just restocks of some favorites. And there are so many more where they came from. Take some time to evaluate the areas of your life that may need some attention then pay attention to what you're paying attention to. Look at how you're feeding each area to see if you've truly surrendered or if you only slightly loosened your grip.
