🗓️ Availability requirements:
• Must be able to work full weekday shifts.
• Saturdays are required during our busy season.

Our working hours so you know what to expect:
• Monday & Tuesday: 9:30 AM–6 PM
• Wednesday: 9:30 AM–5 PM
• Thursday & Friday: 9:30 AM–6 PM
• Saturday: 9:30 AM–5 PM

When Saturday wedding fittings are scheduled, the workday begins at 7:45 AM.

📍 Kingdom Cords – Powderly & Owensboro

We are getting ready to head into our busy season at Kingdom Cords! With spring weddings and prom season ahead, our alteration volume will increase significantly. Because of that, we are looking to add an additional experienced seamstress for EACH of our locations — Powderly and Owensboro.

We want to be very clear: we are not looking for someone who simply sews as a hobby. We need individuals with proven experience in men’s suit tailoring and alterations.

Experience should include:

• Hemming pants
• Tapering pants
• Taking waists in and letting waists out
• Sleeve adjustments
• Taking in the back/body of suit jackets
• Darting dress shirts
• Other basic alterations as needed

PAY PER ALTERATION

• $10 – Hemming
• $15 – Taper
• $25 – Sleeve adjustment
• $25 – Jacket body in
• $15 – Shirt darting
• $15 – Waist in/out

PLEASE READ THE REQUIREMENTS CAREFULLY:

This is a 1099 independent contractor position, and anyone who comes on board with Kingdom Cords will work under contract.

You will be required to pick up and drop off alterations at your assigned Kingdom Cords location twice per week. Turnaround times are extremely important, particularly as we enter our busiest months.

Anyone seriously interested will first be given a few test items to complete before we enter into an agreement.

You must have your own equipment and workspace. A blind stitch machine is REQUIRED — no exceptions. We will not accept hand-sewn hems or alterations that should be machine finished.

Because you will be working with our customers’ clothing, your work environment must be smoke-free and free of pet hair and other strong odors.

We anticipate a good amount of volume as we move into spring wedding and prom season, so we are looking for people who are experienced, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to keep up with deadlines.
