HERE I AM. HERE I STAND. ❤️
There’s something powerful about becoming everything people doubted you could be.
I know there were people who thought I would never make it. People who questioned my decisions, underestimated my abilities, and probably thought I would come crawling back when things got hard. Some of those people doubted me when I walked out of my last job. Others have crossed my path throughout my life.
And you know what? For a while, I even questioned myself.
When I walked away from my job in June, I didn’t have all the answers. I didn’t have some big, elaborate plan or a guarantee that everything would work out. What I did have was a little business called Magnolia Made by Nikki, a whole lot of determination, and a family depending on me.
Was I scared? Absolutely.
Have I cried? You better believe it.
Have there been days when I wondered how we were going to make it? More than I care to admit.
But here we are. It’s October, and Magnolia Made has helped carry my family since June. Let that sink in.
Something I started with my own two hands, my creativity, my time, and my determination has helped put food on our table and keep us going. Every shirt I’ve pressed, every order I’ve packaged, every late night I’ve worked, and every festival I’ve set up at has been part of a journey that means more to me than most people will ever understand.
And no, I’m not rich. I haven’t made it to the top. Some weeks are better than others, and there are still days when I worry about what tomorrow will bring.
But I’m doing it.
I’m building something that belongs to ME. Something nobody can take credit for creating. Something that has given me a sense of purpose I didn’t even realize I was missing.
I’ve learned that sometimes God will allow you to be removed from places where you’ve become too comfortable, even when leaving scares you to death. Sometimes what feels like the end of everything is actually the beginning of the life you’ve been praying for.
And I’ve learned something else.
You don’t have to prove people wrong by arguing with them. Sometimes you prove them wrong simply by refusing to give up.
To the people who doubted me, I don’t wish you anything bad. In fact, I hope you’re doing well. But I hope you understand that you never got to decide what I was capable of becoming.
My past doesn’t define my future. My setbacks don’t determine my worth. And somebody else’s opinion of me will never be the final chapter of my story.
I’m proud of myself. And that’s something I haven’t always been able to say.
I’m proud of the woman who got up every morning even when she was terrified. I’m proud of the woman who kept showing up at festivals, kept taking orders, kept trying new things, and kept believing when business was slow.
Most importantly, I’m proud that my daughter gets to watch her mama fight for something she believes in. She’s learning that life doesn’t always go according to plan, but that doesn’t mean you stop chasing your dreams.
To every single person who has purchased a shirt, shared a post, recommended my business, or simply encouraged me along the way, THANK YOU. You have helped carry my family through a season of life that required more faith than I ever imagined.
I don’t know exactly where Magnolia Made is going to take me. But I know where it has already brought me, and that alone is worth celebrating.
So to anyone who thought I would fall flat on my face when I walked away from that job in June…
Here I am. Here I stand.
Still working. Still learning. Still growing. Still providing. Still believing.
And the best part?
I’m just getting started. ❤️
