Quality Fabric, Longarm Quilting & Memory Quilts Lady Bird Quilts opened for business on April 5, 2013. Lynda Britt has been quilting for many years.

She is a self-taught quilter building on the foundation provided by her mother and both of her grandmothers who also quilted. After years of piecing and hand quilting, in 2013 she decided to make the investment in a longarm quilting machine. After much research and many miles on the road driving to different quilt shops to see and try different longarm machines the decision was made to invest in a

APQS Millennium. Among other attributes APQS has one of the most consistent stitch regulators in the industry. We wanted to be able to quilt the largest quilts, so we opted for the 14′ table. Our Millennium also has the Bliss Track System for phenomenal ease of movement, Quilt Glide for improved control while doing small designs and an Automatic Quilt Advance System. We have also incorporated the state-of-the-art IntelliQuilter ClassiQ computerized quilting system to stitch out the incredible digital designs created by many of today’s talented designers with astounding precision. Lady Bird Quilts is ready and able to quilt your top with our skilled, high quality longarm quilting and finish your project in a manner that shows off your hard work to the best advantage. Another of Lynda’s specialties is creating customized memory quilts to commemorate and celebrate the defining themes and moments in a person’s life. Terry's Walk the Block throw! 🎃🕸️

Terry Morris brought me this fantastic Halloween throw, "Walk the Block," and it was such a treat to have on my longarm! She pieced this sampler-style top with a great mix of stars, pinwheels, and nine-patch blocks, all in a classic trick-or-treat palette of black, orange, purple, and lime green — with candy corn, ghosts, bats, pumpkins, and spiders sprinkled through the prints.

I quilted it edge-to-edge in a Spider Web design, stitched out in a bright lime green thread that really pops against the darker fabrics. It felt like the perfect match for this one — a few extra "spiderwebs" scattered across a quilt that's already full of them!

Terry supplied her own backing, and she'll be adding her own binding once this one is home with her. A fun, festive throw to have on the frame this time of year!

Chevron Quilts by Connie Betterley!

Connie Betterley brought me this matching pair of small chevron quilts, and I just love how these turned out! She pieced both tops in the same gorgeous batik collection — warm golds and browns with dark dragonfly prints peeking through the chevron points — so the two make a beautiful set.

I quilted both edge-to-edge with a Dragonfly Dance design, using brown thread to blend right into that warm palette. The swirling dragonfly motif plays so nicely off the diagonal piecing and adds movement without competing with Connie's pattern.

Connie supplied her own batting and backing, and she'll be adding her own binding once these come home to her. Two lap-size quilts, one gorgeous fabric line — this was a fun set to have on my longarm!

Patriotic Stars Quilt by JoAnne Scafidi!

Just in time for the season, take a look at this beautiful patriotic quilt pieced by JoAnne Scafidi! Rich reds and blues in a variety of prints come together in simple vertical strips, with a scattering of appliquéd stars and a bold "USA" across the front that gives the whole piece such a fun, folk-art feel.

I meander quilted this one for JoAnne in white thread, which lets all those wonderful fabrics take center stage while adding just the right amount of texture. Inside, it's filled with our soft & stable Hobbs Heirloom batting, so it'll be as cozy as it is pretty.

🧵 A Quick Note About Our Saturday Hours 🧵

Hello, quilting friends! I wanted to give you all a little advance notice about a couple of upcoming Saturdays when the shop will be closed.
Lady Bird Quilts will be closed on Saturday, June 13th and again on Saturday, June 27th. Please rest assured that we will be open as usual in between, on Saturday, June 20th, so you won't have to wait long to come see us! 😊

Pullman's Path Quilt by Terry Morris!

Some quilts walk in the door and just take your breath away, and this Pullman's Path Quilt by Terry Morris was one of those quilts.

Terry pieced this stunning top using a gorgeous collection of bold, jewel-toned botanical prints — rich purples, fiery oranges, electric blues and greens — all set against a soft cream background that makes every single piece pop. The Pullman's Path pattern creates a wonderful push-and-pull optical effect, with tumbling checkerboard blocks that seem to dance right off the surface. The precision of Terry's piecing is just beautiful — all those tiny squares and sharp star points lined up perfectly. That kind of workmanship makes my job a joy.

My quilting is done in Rambling Hearts, a design with flowing, organic curves that complement the movement already built into the piecing. On a quilt this busy and colorful, the quilting needed to add texture and softness without competing with Terry's fabrics, and I think we got just that. The quilt backing fabric — Smudge Orange by Choice Fabrics — really shows off the Rambling Hearts stitching in eggshell beautifully.

Terry, it was an absolute pleasure to quilt this for you. I hope it brings warmth and smiles to everyone who snuggles under it for years to come!

We are thrilled to announce that Lady Bird Quilts will reopen for business on Saturday, 4/11/2026 from 10:00 to 4:00 only for fabric sales as well as to drop off and pick up quilts. Lady Bird Quilts Closed until January 2026

Due to ongoing health issues, at this point we are planning for the shop to remain closed until after the first of the New Year. If you have a quilt top in to be quilted, we will do it as soon as we are able or you are welcome to come pick it up and make other quilting arrangements. Just text or call to arrange a pickup time.
