I treat my preservation designs very differently than my own designs made from pressed flowers from my garden!

In preservation pieces, a design mockup process adds time and extra effort onto the overall process. But to me, it is a very crucial step!

Although most clients approve of the first design draft I send. But when small changes are requested, I am reminded of why it is such an important step!

Preservation pieces do not just hold flowers, they hold special memories from that day! And so the designs, when possible, need to match their visions of the memory!

I have been struggling with posting this because I have been in denial! But unfortunately due to our unusually cold winter, then extreme drought conditions earlier this year, my hydrangeas did not bloom at all this year.

So I will not have any pressed blue hydrangeas available for frames, cards or bookmarks! These are one of my best sellers, so I am so sorry to not be able to offer them this year.

Hopefully next year's weather will be more favorable and I will have many blooms to press again!

I love pressing what I grow within my garden, but sometimes that means letting nature decide what I have available to press each year!

Just finished taking apart a big beautiful bouquet into pressing!!

This stack contains just that one bouquet!

I have many different methods of pressing flowers including traditional presses and using stacks of boards with weights, sometimes also using layers of cotton or foam!

Sometimes the signage at art markets makes a huge difference for the customers' experience! I always try to make things as clear and well stated as possible so they feel more comfortable browsing my booth!

So adding this sign to my booth table seemed to be a no brainer in order to answer a few of my most asked questions. And it is not so that they do not ask, it is actually so that the conversation gets started naturally. And it honestly leads to more follow up questions which I enjoy answering!

I love chatting about the pressing process to anyone who is interested as it is such a fun process and easy for anyone to get started!

I know I have been quiet on here the last few months, but I'm still here! I have just been focusing on getting the work done in the background!

So to get back into the swing of posting, take a look at this beautiful 11 X 14 inch framed wedding bouquet preservation.

This bouquet was filled not only with a large variety of gorgeous blooms, but also included some lace pieces from the bride's mother's wedding dress! Little sentimental pieces like that are so special to incorporate into the floral designs when possible!

There is no better feeling for me than receiving a wedding bouquet containing many types of flowers I grow within my own garden!

This was such a fun bouquet to press and design! This 8 X 10 frame packs a punch of color mixed with organic texture and beauty!
