Our shop corgi Ru is hard at work nap...we mean product testing... the new cat rescue beds for the local shelter. May is all about sustainable fashion and we have a particular soft spot for our furry friends. Well, 10+ years of teaching industrial factory sewing since Techshop RDU opened. Adding in a factory design production sample making this year too October 9th and 10th in the shop. We'll be making cancer port pillows and other fun stuff per normal for people to take home. $300/each

Thanks everyone who Zoomed the annual voting meeting last night for Sewing Acts of Kindness. For 2021 sustainable fashion, spring semester this year our focus is donating fabrics and education to help get the next sewing generation caught up since kids have had a particularly hard year. Then fall, fingers crossed, we will be able to start back on in person sewing bees. As always, cancer port pillows for local hospitals is our most popular project, but we may add more after herd immunity is reached. All sewing bees are free and open to the public. There is no charge.
