I’m so passionate about the dachshund breed. This might be long but please read if interested in owning this breed
Please rescue if you can. They are a difficult breed and they are often left at kill shelters or moved around

They bark
They dig
They chew
Horrible at being potty trained
Back problems
Not always good with small children

Etc etc etc
Not all of them are like this but these are some of the problems that can occur
And that’s why the end up in rescues or in kill shelters

Right now I have 4 rescues. It’s so much work!

Cyrus- rescued at 9 years now 19 years perfect dog but still digs my yard up soooo bad.

Cleo- rescued at 7 now 12 very bad barker still barks if the ice drops from the ice machine for like an hour. Also has cancer and every day is a gamble if she wakes up

Savanna - rescued at 14 now 16 very much potty trained but won’t p*e outside if there is one drizzle of rain. Very needy

Penny- got as a puppy as a pure breed dachshund…. Not so much ended up a half breed had for 13 years. She has all the above problems and more and the reason I will never buy a puppy again!

I run a non profit for this breed, live with this breed everyday and here for any trouble shoot problems you might have ❤️❤️❤️😍
