About the artist:

Anna Erneholm grew up in Sweden and studied art and architecture at the Chalmers University of Technology and at the Art Academy in Gothenburg, Sweden. She now lives in San Pedro, California and works out of her studio at Angels Gate Cultural Center.

Anna works mainly in wood, but also in stone, clay and bronze. Her sculptures are intuitive, expressive and tactile. They move between the figurative and the abstract, in a continual search and development of the language of form. The expressions reflect human emotions and the tactile feeling of experiencing a physical body from within.

The language of Anna’s sculptures is influenced by the natural landscapes of the Swedish archipelago where she grew up, but also from rock formations in the western American deserts, especially Joshua Tree National park.

About the Exhibit
Kitties, we will meet here, again, when the time comes is a site-specific photographic installation by Yohei Abe, developed from his first monograph Ghosts Angels Beyond Light. The monograph emerged from a period of profound rupture and listening, bringing together photography, poetry, and an evolving musical component as an exploration of memory, absence, and transformation. Drawing from myth and literature—including Orpheus and Eurydice, Dante’s Divine Comedy, and Rilke’s Sonnets to Orpheus—the project adopted the structure of a journey, tracing the movement between longing and return, presence and disappearance.

In this exhibition, selected works from the monograph are included to connect the viewer across distance and time to meaningful moments of the artist’s journey. The gallery acts as a threshold space: a place where memory, perception, and the possibility of re-encounter coexist. If the monograph gathers fragments into a constellation, this installation creates a ritual site in which those fragments are experienced physically, through movement and duration. Here, the artist invites the viewer to allow the photography to suspend their attention and be gently redirected toward what remains unfinished.

About the Artist
Yohei Abe is a Japanese photographer, DJ, poet, based in Los Angeles. Founder of Balse.org, his work explores solitude, cross-cultural experience, and humanity’s relationship to nature, memory, and spirituality. His first monograph, Ghosts Angels Beyond Light released December 2025 with dePAOLA Pictures, supported by Leica Akademie USA and Leica Store San Francisco.

"Stillness and Movement" Art Show

Our February gallery artist is Margret Wade and we are excited to feature her first ever solo exhibition!

The show is about Margret’s travels through California since moving here from Chicago in the early 90s and her oil paintings highlight the contrast of the natural world.

About the Artist:

Margret Wade is a classically trained artist with a desire to translate the beauty of the natural world into her art. As an alumna of The Art Institute of Chicago, Margret uses oil paints to create dramatic scenes of the local scenery and powerfully realistic still lifes. As an avid gardener, it is no surprise that she takes sanctuary in the wide-open spaces of her home state California.
Margret has made numerous trips up the California coast line with the goal of painting and documenting the varied scenery of the landscape throughout the seasons. She finds the Eastern Sierras exceptionally interesting for the wide range of scenery created at elevations above 10,000 feet, from the yellow spring flowers to the snowy whitecapped mountains and glacial lakes all existing simultaneously as seen in this show. She finds herself inspired by the patterns, light, and rhythms found in the beauty of the natural world. In this, her very first solo show, she hopes to showcase her passion to a brand-new audience.
