Eye emergencies can happen when you least expect them, so know what to do if you or a loved one needs emergent eye care is important.

An eye emergency is anything that puts your eyes or vision at risk of permanent damage. Here are examples of possible eye emergencies:

· Eye trauma
· Foreign object in the eye
· Chemical injury
· Cuts and scratches
· Eye infection
· Sudden loss of vision

If you’re experiencing one of these situations, contact us for an emergency eye care appointment or visit the nearest emergency or urgent care for treatment.

Before you step out on your next adventure, check out these great do’s and don’ts from the American Academy of Ophthalmology:

Don’t: Wait to see an eye doctor before traveling
Do: Prepare for dry eyes on airplanes
