Pattern release: Mae-il Summer Top 🌞

Mae-il, which means “everyday” in Korean and this Summer Top is a classic and versatile design that is meant to be easy to fit into your everyday summer wardrobe.
It is worked from the bottom-up seamlessly, with a simple design at the front/back and sides to keep it visually interesting. The neck and armholes are worked as I-cord edging and shaped by using decreases.

The body of the top is initially worked then stitches for the back are held on waste yarn while the front is worked. Then stitches for the back are picked up and worked.

This top is worked with the back side slightly higher than the front however it can easily be worn reversed if you’d prefer a bit more coverage in the front.

Some yarn unboxing. I love getting new yarn 😍😍😍

I love a good fi*****ng weight yarn for summer tops, but nothing beats a good quality dk or sport weight. It drapes nice and it doesn't feel like it takes forever to knit up a top!

I've been looking for some dk weight cotton yarn for some summer tops I have in mind. I ordered some from to try out!!

I know summer is supposed to be about bright colors and whatnot, but I'm more of muted tones and black kinda gal. So I bought a palette that fits me and my wardrobe 🦝.

I'm planning to cast-on something tomorrow! Yay!

I'm so excited about how this cardigan is turning out!!! 🤩

I'll be working on the collar next. I'm still thinking of how I'd like to do the sleeves.

Yarn is which has been such a fun yarn to work with! And I absolutely love the color.

My progress on what started like a shawl, but is actually a cardigan. Isn't she gorgeous??

After finishing the right side, I felt like the eyelet repeat was visually too much so I am doing the left side in just stockinette and like it so much more!!

Which side do you like better? Right side with the eyelet repeat or the left side with just stockinette?

I decided to redesign and reknit this sweater, but with wider sleeves.

I loved the original one, but when I imagined it, it was with wider sleeves. So although I had completed the whole sweater, I wanted to redo it to fit what I had in my mind.

So here is the second version! With wider sleeves!!

Call for testers!

I wanted a simple, but versatile summer top that I could pair with anything - jeans, shorts, leggings, etc.

This top is knit from the bottom up. It's knit with a linen/alpaca/wool blend yarn from (linen quill).
