Above is a buckle that was being sold through Boot Barn retail stores and their affiliated sites. Below is my original design, a large bolo/pendant.

I’m not talking about the general floral style — I get that that’s been around forever. What caught my attention is how closely the actual layout, details, and overall composition line up perfectly.

I’ve reached out to Boot Barn multiple times over the past few months trying to handle this privately, have heard nothing.

Im not looking for a big payday. I don’t want them to stop selling this piece. What I do want is my normal freelance design fee, which is probably less than the cost to defend my copyright in court.
Frustrating.

I’m an independent silversmith/designer, and I recently came across a retail product that appears to match one of my original jewelry designs in all key details. This piece is being sold in retail stores and across several websites, all owned by the same company.

Over the past several months, I’ve made multiple good-faith attempts to contact this retailer directly — including reaching out to their legal and corporate departments — in hopes of resolving this privately and professionally.

Unfortunately, all I’ve heard back is crickets…🦗
I’m still hopeful this can be addressed directly without legal intervention.

What would you do in this instance?
