Can’t sleep this morning and trying to ignore a little toothache… and honestly, I’ve been a bit overwhelmed with work lately. Trying to find some solace in the everyday workload that keeps piling up against personal struggles has been tough. I needed a reminder — and tonight, I found one.
The message about Elijah in 1 Kings 19 spoke straight to my heart. Elijah was exhausted, overwhelmed, and ready to give up. And yet God met him right where he was, offering rest, nourishment, and gentleness before anything else. No pressure. No expectations. Just presence.
Sometimes we forget that we don’t have to run on empty to prove our faith. We don’t have to be strong every moment. Needing rest doesn’t make us weak — it makes us human. Elijah’s story shows us that God doesn’t wait for us to “get it together.” He meets us in the tired, quiet, worn‑down places.
Life gets heavy, and this world can be so trying. These restless mornings are often the moments when we need Him the most.
We’ve all heard the phrase “Go BIG or go HOME.” It’s meant to motivate us, but sometimes what we really need is the complete opposite — a place to slow down, breathe, and simply be with God without judgment or expectation.
If you need a space like that, you’ve come to the right place.
At the Shoppes at River’s Edge, our booth has a chair set aside just for this purpose. Sit as long as you need. Pray. Rest. Let God meet you right where you are — just like He met Elijah.
And if you feel led to leave a prayer request, we have a lantern in the corner where you can gently place it. Every request is prayed over with intention and love.
You are welcome here — exactly as you are.
