If "customs" being in the name doesn't give it away, we like making unique products for you to use. Rarely do we get a modification request come along that prompts the question "Why didn't I think of that?" as was the case with this LGT. Product notes asked if it was possible and it was. The owner of this bag is a self-proclaimed "sucker for purple on everything". This and a stuff bag with some changes make an eye-catching pair.

If this is something you're interested in, shoot us a message. There is an increase in material cost and labor is about double, so there would be a little upcharge.

Alexa, play Fortunate Son from the loudspeaker I've affixed to my Huey, max volume.

There are a few misfits like the one pictured here looking for a home. I really like the print on this fabric, its warmer, more gold than the current Tiger Stripe Products' greenish hue. I've listed it as Vintage Tiger to delineate between the two. It is similar to some of the patterns seen on the MACVSOG teams throughout the war, I guess. Vietnam history isn't really my thing, but tiger stripe and its derivatives are. Something about the duality of man.

Little bit of yin in the yang, and a little bit yang in the yin. 2300 years of Eastern Philosophy culminates in tote bags. I'm pretty sure I'm getting that right...

I like seeing the combinations folks come up with. DNC and DCU is a classic, and I love seeing it every time. The MCB on Tropic is a little bit of a surprise, and I did not expect it to come out as well as it did. Sometimes stark differences in neighboring colors cause the piece to loose cohesion, but I'm kinda digging this one.

The year is 2013, things have been weird since the election, tension seems more salient. Fortunately you stocked up on PMAGs at $40/ea at the peak of the rush. You keep seeing friends on facebook mention something about a lab in Montauk. "The place with that weird monster this from a few years ago. That was a hoax, right?" you think to yourself. You turn on the news to see breaking coverage of a pathogen that was stolen from a lab in Montauk and released in nearby population centers. Reports are incomplete and conflicting, but some say that those infected by this pathogen quickly become aggressive and unresponsive, attacking anyone near them. "It's happening" you think. What you've spent the last 5 years preparing, and being mocked, for is finally happening. There are zombies in America, and you're one of the only people who saw it coming. You run to the spare bedroom you converted to a space for your preps. You slide your right arm and then your head into your Condor MOPC in OD green, closing the cummerbund with your left. A half-inch steel plate in front and rear will protect you from walkers and raiders alike, the Z.E.R.T. patch on either side tells others you know what you're doing. You look at your DPMS AR with a new TruGLO optic. Not the fanciest, but just as good as any other. Last, you pull down your Kryptek Typhon stuff bag. As the zipper opens, you're greeted with the sight of green polymer-tipped 55gr. .223, preloaded in those expensive PMAGs. The only round designed with the undead threat in mind. You step out into the street and are met with pandemonium. Others weren't prepared, but you were.

Kryptek Typhon Stuff Bags are up for grabs on the Misfits page. Grab them while they last, we don't have any more of the material, and we don't plan on getting any. Hopefully you enjoyed the little bit of fiction, I tried to cram as many references as possible from the time we'd all rather forget. It pairs nicely with the most 2013 image edit I could conceive.

Not in time for Oktoberfest, but they’ll still hold the keys to Das Auto, or whatever you choose to drive. Keep an eye out for these on the website later this week.

Gotta make a stop by the super-illegal, super-classified black site. Y'all need anything?

The new prints of Desert and Original Tiger are pretty nice. Awesome to have the option for non-standard patterns in the same material standards you come to expect working with more popular patterns. Not sold on the webbing and loop options yet, might need to see them in person more.

My Grandfather, Dr. Locke Taylor, passed away earlier this week. He was a veterinarian in Richmond for over 50 years. I had the distinct pleasure of working for and with him in his practice. His work ethic and love of his vocation were a huge inspiration for me. In many ways, he is the reason that I pursued the idea of Latigo Customs. He taught me many things including how to conduct business in a way that honors God. It is something that I try my best to do here. My grandfather was a very special man, I take great pride in being named after him.

There's a fair number of new details with this run of Big Stuff Bag 2.0's. Easily the biggest change is the use of X-Pac Fabrics by Dimension Polyant. Don't let the familiar face fabrics fool you, this isn't run of the mill Cordura. Thanks to their three-ply lamination technology, these fabrics have superb water resistance and rigidity, all while adding basically nothing to the weight of the fabric. The end result is a material and bag unlike anything we've ever made.

Big Stuff Bag 2.0's are live on the website and ship immediately. Join our email newsletter for a special offer.

I like to call this trio “Nick at Nite”.

When we upgraded our website in 2021, it became possible to offer more options than ever before. Because we routinely have the fabric, our hivis colors were added. It wasn’t until this year that someone actually ordered a bag using them.

Some of the trim was a little hard to find, but the end result is amazing. These three LGTs are headed to their home.

Family Photo

Some you’ve seen before, some you haven’t. On top is the weekender duffle. Below that sit two prototypes of a new duffle with a working title of Traveller. The Traveller is similar to the Weekender in capacity, but really shines with regards to feature set. The new bag features full length exterior pockets with internal division, as well as pockets on the inside of either wall of the bag.

All three bags are made from primarily cotton duck X11 Moonstone (left) and Olive (top and right) with some RX30 Ocean Blue. XPac is super water/abrasion resistant, which is why it’s used on the bottom cap of the new bags.

The Traveller is still relatively young in the design cycle. There are some revisions that need to be made, and certainly more will come from use, but it is something we look to offer in the future. It is unlikely this will ever be a custom item due to the material demand of production.

If you’ve got questions about the Traveller, leave them in the comments, we’d like to hear em.
