For those of you who didn't make it to Art on the Block event a few weeks ago, you also didn't get a chance to see our skirt collab reveal. So here it is! What we used: acrylic paint mixed w/ textile medium on lightweight cotton fabric. Simple doesn't mean boring. One of the things I strive for when styling myself or my models is the feeling of effortlessness and minimalism. I used to, and sometimes still, stress over accessories, because honestly, it can enhance my outfit or make me look foolish. However, sometimes, the best accessory is none at all. The outfit is the accessory.

When I go on vacation, I always pack one of my skirts. (1) They're versatile. (2) They're comfortable. So I get to be cute and feminine, yet sightsee with ease. And not worry about how my outfit will transition from shopping at the local stores to going out to a bar or brewery.

For my road trip to Ohio, I chose one of my thrifted-vintage skirts. It was about three sizes too big. So I altered it to fit me. What are some of your favorite versatile pieces to take with you on vacation? Feel free to share with pic below!

More pics from Vaunda M. Wilson's wedding! Here, I'm hand-sewing a bonnet into her wedding gown. It's the bonnet of her daughter, Maya Leela, who passed away almost four years ago. She was 20 days old. By doing this, all of her children were a part of the ceremony. Maya's twin brother was the ring bearer. And her older sister was one of the flower girls. ❤
