If someone asked for a turquoise color would you show them these? I feel like the background scarf is turquoise and the beads are leaning more toward aqua, but colors are a spectrum of shades so, maybe this is what the customer wants? What do you think? Is your first impression turquoise or aqua?

My favorite color combo for decades has been red orange, maroon, and teal. It’s so beautiful out here with the leaves changing colors and being able to see the palette in my surroundings :) I tried working with three shades (dark blue, teal, and turquoise) of wooden beads I picked up from an Iraqi shop at a gem show. I accented them with three shades of seed beads using some of my favorites: Picasso blue, translucent emerald, and a matte metallic teal. The vibe is light and casual, kinda Coachella, kinda eccentric art teacher. I used copper and antique bronze findings (not shown) to add something funky to this unique necklace. ☕️🍁 It’s beanie (or toboggan) season here in Appalachia! At least in the mornings, anyway. It’s been years since I’ve woken up to 42 degrees and I’m loving it. This necklace was made with jasper stones & the earrings with amazonite + jasper. Sometimes I make a set all matchy matchie but sometimes pieces want to be unique and complimentary instead.

Had to make a red jasper necklace for myself before I use up my favorite stones. I’m learning that it’s research into how a clasp lays on your neck, if it comes apart with movement or slides down the side over the course of the day—all those things that get annoying and I wouldn’t know because I don’t wear much jewelry myself. Also, Etsy is enforcing no AI for its makers by requiring one unedited photo for each listing, which means all of us have to learn how to be better photographers or pay someone who already knows.

OMG my light box design is killing me! I tried out this new acrylic stand I got to showcase earrings that have more uncommon ear wire designs and was so excited to photograph this 3D pair of dangling earrings. But you can see the reflection of my phone unless I shoot from below. I made this pair for myself with garnet gemstones and I cannot get the color to shine through! I asked to borrow my dad’s camera so I can see if it’s my phone’s white balance skewing warm and picking up these horizontal stripes. Product photography is so challenging!

Fall is my favorite season🍁🍂 and an excuse to work with my favorite materials! I feel like I always need a red jasper necklace on hand because the color is so deep and rich. I paired the red jasper with my favorite mahogany (reddish brown) seed beads for a pop of contrast. I opted for darker metal findings in a rhodium or hematite shade, and finished it off with a soldered jump ring and wire guardians so the wearer can look forward to greater durability without compromising style.
