💚 STAY; YOU ARE LOVED.
We promised sharing all our new stuff today but this message deserves its own post because this message has been on my heart. As some of you know, su***de has recently impacted our chosen family and while we’ve supported the Tudor House initiative since it started, we’ve never been so personally connected to its cause as this year. It took everything in my being to power through management of the Shamrock Hill 5K and I’ve been digging out from under piles of emails and countless hours of work I simply disregarded because to me, nothing was more important than supporting my people in their time of need.
So this is my message to you, whether you’re struggling now or you’ve wrestled with dark thoughts throughout your life. We all struggle. We all feel moments of hopelessness and despair. Please know this: ending your life causes exponentially worse pain for everyone you’ve ever known and even people you may never meet because the hole you leave behind is a vacuum of sadness and loss impacting everyone in your orbit. The “what if” thoughts are soul-crushing, and the feeling of being broken open never truly heals, it just ebbs and flows. Your friends and family will spend the rest of their lives questioning what they could have done to support you better and shown you more love and compassion.
Contemporary society does us no favors in our efforts to feel more included and valued. We are constantly fed messages of doing more, needing more, being more, achieving more. At the end of the day, what matters the most is feelings of gratitude and purpose with a sense of connection. There are many, many ways to find contentment in those elements, but it feels like an uphill battle if you also feel alone. You are not alone, not ever. Someone else is feeling what you feel, even if they don’t demonstrate it in public or communicate their struggles. We have all been there or will be there, wading in the darkness, but please trust us when we say you’re not alone! Please STAY, talk to someone, reach out and open up, I bet someone will lovingly listen and be with you, meet you where you are, and remind you how you are loved.
We were honored to debut this design in April with Team Tudor House of the Blue Ridge Marathon. We saved the public reveal to this month, our anniversary month, and our wish is that you share this message with others and convey how important it is that you stay; you are loved! Proceeds of these shirts benefit our friends at Tudor House. 💛 💚 - Ally
