The Tintype Kitchen Set: Functional beauty for your home.

The Tintype Kitchen set brings my signature short-row techniques into your daily routine with practical pieces that are as striking as they are useful.

Shown here: Tintype Washcloth knit using one end each of Twisp Black and Fireclay. The bold contrast of deep black with vibrant fireclay creates graphic interest within this short-row shape motif. A bar of milk soap rests in a dish in the background ready for use.

Part of my Tintype Collection, these designs translate beautifully into cotton and plant-based fibers, making them perfect for kitchen and bath use.

Two incredibly meaningful and powerful symbols of hope arrived in the mail today. The first is a handmade knit “Melt the ICE” hat by that I received just in time for my son’s birthday. On behalf of Hannah and , a donation was made in kind to to support the work they are doing to help new Americans from all parts of the world meaningfully transition to living in Vermont, gaining independence in their new communities, and becoming part of the fabric of this beautiful state.

The second item that I received in the mail today is a memorial card honoring the life and work of . Ilisha passed away earlier this month after almost six years battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer. When first diagnosed, she was only given a couple months to live. Her life story and uplifting messages have brought so many people hope and strength. My own aunt passed away from this very aggressive cancer back in 2012. We had very little warning and less time to process. Ilisha’s journey captured my heart and I followed along as she deliberately approached every day, celebrating life to the fullest as an artist and maker.

I am deeply grateful to both of these artists and makers, individuals who actively approach life’s struggles through their acts of resistance through craft. They are my role models. They inspire me.

Shown here in Freia Fine Handpaints Ombré Fi*****ng in Sulfur Springs with Green Mountain Spinnery Lana in Muy Oscura.

Pattern available on Ravelry. Link in bio.

The scarf features a gradient of Freia Fine Handpaints Ombré Fi*****ng ranging from light off-white through warm yellow and into platinum grey, paired with deep natural sheep’s brown from Green Mountain Spinnery. My newest design from the Tintype Collection is now available! The Ferrotype Scarf pattern features a unique center cast-on using Judy’s Magic Cast-On method, then works outward in rounds to really highlight the color gradient. The asymmetrical layout uses slipped stitches to create a grid-like pattern and optical depth. Short-row motifs span irregular intervals, creating visual movement and rhythm across the fabric.

This design comes alive with the perfect pairing of gradient and solid yarns:

MC: Freia Fine Handpaint Yarns Shawl Ball and Minikins in Sulfur Springs (100% mulesing-free merino, single ply fi*****ng weight) - 537m/587yds

CC: Green Mountain Spinnery Lana in Muy Oscura (100% fine wool, 2-ply fi*****ng weight) - 460m/502yds

The slipped stitch technique showcases how the gradient MC moves through the design while the solid CC provides grounding structure and visual rhythm.

Recessed stockinette stitch windows are framed by raised garter stitch lines, with rhythmic slipped stitch details creating graphic linear elements throughout.

Image: A hand knit sweater is displayed atop a lichen covered rocky outcropping on the shores of Grand Manan Island. The sweater, designed by Ona Wöldten, is knit sideways using both short-row shaping techniques and pattern motif. The yarn body is a beautiful dyed mid-tone blue sheep’s wool by Junction Fiber Mill. The yoke uses a color called “Stick Season” from their Making Tracks Collection, in a heavy DK weight. It beautifully transitions from almost a turquoise color through a range of taupe and tans into vivid periwinkle. Learn more about their yarn

Exciting news! I’ll be a vendor at WOOL WORKS, a brand new fiber event celebrating the wonder of wool and the community it holds.

Organized by Catherine Clark of Brooklyn General Store and Tammy White of Wing & A Prayer Farm, Wool Works honors local agriculture, craftsmanship, and the small farms and makers who connect field, fiber, and finished goods.

I’ll be presenting my complete collection of pattern designs, hand dyed Pokainu Yarns from the Northern New England Fibershed, hand knit samples, and a whole new body of Designer Kits. This event is a perfect celebration of everything I’m passionate about: sustainable local fiber, thoughtful design, and the community that connects us all.

Check out www.wool.works for all the details!

See you there! 🧶
