Plant dyed yarn!
From left to right, we have onion skin on sheep's wool, marigold on sheep's wool, marigold on alpaca, madder on alpaca, madder on sheep's wool X2, and finally a second skein of madder on alpaca. The marigolds came from our garden, and the madder was grown by our friend Kira. (Thank you!!!) The onion skins are from kitchen scraps. We'll be using this yarn to make some truly special pieces in the future.

Hi all! It's been a while since we've updated, but there are a lot of new projects we have to share with you. We were given this plain black wool blend cloak from Mytholon to spice up for a LARP. Our client gave us her design and we went at it! Added floral embroidery around the hem, a purple lining, and some faux fur trim, so she will be nice and warm while adventuring through the winter. The blue flowers even glow in the dark! A truly magical piece to help bring a magical character to life. Vali was the star of the show here, making that embroidered trim happen, while Rowan took on the small detailed work of the poppy applique in the back. Thank you for your order and your trust! Time to get cozy! This gorgeous pastel sweater was a lucky Goodwill find. Vali wove a super sweet scarf (their first weaving ever!) that wound up matching it flawlessly. Thank you to SewGreen Rochester for the rescued yarn. These sweet, soft colors make us smile.

Is Rowan going on a quest? Nah, just modeling some of their handmade garb!

The hood is wool embroidered with woolen thread, and fully hand stitched. The tunic is wool, with machine stitching on the inside, and hand stitched hems. The fabric for both of these pieces, including the embroidery thread, come from SewGreen Rochester, our favorite place to go for fabrics and supplies.

We scored some really nice linen from Sew Green. There's enough here for a hood, a short cloak, or a tunic. What do you ...
