ADOPTED!!
From Abuse Survivor to Tripawd!
Meet Crouton, a bully breed mix whose spirit remains unbroken despite the ultimate betrayal.
Crouton’s nightmare began when his previous owner's ex-boyfriend, furious over a breakup, took his anger out on an innocent puppy. He threw Crouton over a high fence. The violent fall fractured Crouton's leg. Instead of receiving the urgent medical care he desperately needed, he was left to suffer in silence. For an entire month, he lived with a broken bone until he was surrendered to an overcrowded animal control shelter in New Mexico.
Because his case involved a formal animal cruelty investigation, Crouton was placed on a mandatory legal hold. He spent even more time confined to a shelter kennel while his injury aged, stiffened, and worsened. By the time the hold lifted, the shelter was overcrowded, and Crouton was placed on the euthanasia list simply because he was hurt.
That is when we received the urgent cry for help. We immediately stepped in, pulled Crouton from death row, and got him into our Vet.
Because months had passed since the abuse, Crouton’s leg tried to heal itself completely wrong. The improperly fused bone caused severe, debilitating arthritis, leaving this sweet boy in constant, terrible pain. Our vet (along with 2 others) confirmed that the damage is too severe to fix. To help Crouton thrive in life and get him out of pain, he will need a leg amputation.
Dogs are incredibly resilient, and we know Crouton will thrive as a happy, fast three-legged "tripawd." But he needs this surgery to finally live without pain. As a non-profit, running on donations, we could use some help covering his amputation, medication, and aftercare.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Donate Toward His Surgery
Any donation amount helps us reach our goal. You can donate directly to us, or you can call his veterinary clinic to pay toward his account: Mountainaire Animal Clinic 307-382-6698
2. Foster or Foster-to-Adopt
Crouton is looking for a dedicated foster or foster-to-adopt home where he can safely heal after surgery. He is going to need a lot of rest, TLC, and understanding.
Because of his chaotic past, Crouton has never been taught how to be a family dog. He knows absolutely nothing yet. He will need a special savior who can provide lots of structure, training, and patience as he learns the ropes. He will not be able to wrestle or rough house with another dog for a couple of weeks, but he loves dog friends!
Despite everything a human put him through, Crouton does not hold a grudge. He still looks up at us with soulful eyes, just wanting to be loved. He survived the fence, the neglect, the legal hold, and death row, now let's help him survive the cost of his cure.
Thank you for considering helping Crouton!

Here's a funny photo to start your weekend off right. 🤣
The look of complete shock on Bjorn's face is priceless, while his brother Rowan is fully committed to catching that treat no matter what it takes.

I always love the perfectly posed photos, but the outtakes might be my favorite.
