A collection of office smalls that have been awaiting listing.
It always happens that items that we find come in cycles. Whether it’s a bunch of wooden waste paper baskets, oak card files or wavy wire desk trays, you don’t see any of these things at all and then multiples of the same items come around.
First up are the solid wood early 20th century waste paper baskets. These would have been at every office desk at one time and over the years changed from wood, then metal and eventually to plastic trash cans. It’s great that we currently have examples for sale of many different types vintage trash cans.
The wire paper trays are a new obsession, after setting up a home office during Covid, I found it difficult to find items that didn’t make my office space just look like a modern stale looking desk. If I was going to have a home office then I wanted it to have an attractive aesthetic.
Ever since then I’ve had an appreciation for vintage office items, especially those new that are as useful and needed today as the day they were made, but have little design features that make them stand out, such as wavy wire trays. There’s something about the wavy wire that’s so pleasing to the eye.
