The Woman Behind the Clothes
As a women approaching her 40’s, I started finding it more difficult to find clothing styles that I liked when out shopping. Either they were geared towards young twenty-somethings or something I could picture someone my mom’s age wearing. Boutiques seemed to be the place where I could fall in love with simple styles and patterns, the the prices were often out of my comfort zone. I knew a couple of local online boutiques that I had found through a friend and thought to myself, “I could do that!”
In January 2017, I launched FerrisWheel Clothing Co. My goal was to provide young and fun styles of clothing to women in their 20’s to 40’s that would be flattering on all body types and hide our own individual problem areas. Let’s face it...after popping out kids, we don’t all have that flat tummy anymore and don’t always have the time to devote to the gym! Sorry, Forever XXI, it’s not you...it’s me and my “Nearing 40” body.
Aside from wanting to provide styles that complimented different body types, I set a goal to never charge more than I would pay for an item and still keep my margins high enough to make the business work. This allows me to offer great clothes at a reasonably competitive price. Win-win!
