When the rut is on…
Throwback to this video we captured back in 2024. This was November 4 and the rut in Oklahoma had begun. This doe popped out under my tree and I could hear the constant low grunts of a buck on the chase. And knew I had one coming to follow this doe. She dipped back into the woods and the buck continued to follow. Then I saw her pop out just behind me again, and I knew that buck would be coming. I drew my bow and waited. As the doe came past me perfect at 30 yards, I was confident the buck would follow the same path. He did, and I put my pin right on him ready to fire. The moment got the best of me and I slung my arrow in haste, missing just in front of his leg. Luckily I missed completely and did not injure him in any way. And I hoped I would see him again.
