Since being back in Canada we need care and referrals for my daughter. After two different doctors who made her feel like a hypochondriac I decided to take matters into my own hands and advocate for care. I found a cardiologist in Red Deer that knows pots and then I called around to clinics in airdrie to dr's accepting mew patients and asked if they were familiar with POTS. 2 said no and I hung up, one said somewhat familiar but he was happy to refer. So I armed my daughter with this cardiologist in red deers name and a disautonomia clinic in Calgary and she got both referrals. Cardio called us yesterday and got us in today!! She had Ecg and an echo. They have also booked with NO prompting - a 24 hour holter, a treadmill stress test and a tilt table test over the next two months!!! With the mri and angiograph of carotid and brain in Feb, we are so pleased with the progress!
