🥎 A weekend that began with one goal ended with a national championship for the Phoenix Wood 16U softball team.

The Vinton-based travel team returned home from the USA Softball One True Championship National Tournament in Tennessee with the national title and the No. 1 ranking after a dominant performance throughout the tournament.

A little history of the "T-Shirt"

* 1880s: Started as a heavy "Union Suit" bodysuit that workers cut in half to stay cool. (Ended up looking like the letter "T"
* 1913: Adopted by the US Navy as a lightweight, white cotton uniform undershirt.
* 1950s: Marlon Brando and James Dean made it a symbol of Hollywood rebellion and outerwear.
* 1960s–80s: New inks turned shirts into wearable billboards for bands, brands, and protests.
