I had the honor of watching one of my best friends take his first turkey this evening. We’ve been trying to get to the moment for a couple years and he’s had some rotten luck but all that finally paid off today and he has officially become a part of the tenth legion we all so proudly represent. Congratulations buddy I’m looking forward to spending many spring mornings together in the future!

This moment is always so bittersweet. We wait all year to get to this moment and then when it all comes together that wait starts all over. My mind will replay this one too many times to count before I stare down the gun barrel at one again. Thankful the lord made me a turkey hunter!

This post may fall on deaf ears and honestly if you aren’t a die hard turkey hunter I’d just keep scrolling cuz this post ain’t gonna mean squat to you. Any turkey hunter knows how much of an impact this tape had on the world of turkey hunting! I grew up on primos the truth about turkey hunting tapes and dvds, and in recent years have been collecting them. I blame and thank these old videos for my obsession with hunting turkeys. I still lack a few but the one I had pretty much come to grips with not ever getting my hands on was an original truth 1 tape. I occasionally scroll eBay on the lookout for it and low and behold last week I found it! It warms my heart to own such a big piece of turkey hunting history and I look forward to adding it to my yearly pre spring tradition of watching these old tapes and dvds!
