Yard Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Yard Assistant to support the daily operations of our warehouse and lumber yard. This role is essential to maintaining efficient material flow, assisting customers, and ensuring accurate handling of inventory. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts and other equipment to safely move materials throughout the yard.
Assist with daily yard operations, including load building, receiving, and organizing materials.
Load and unload materials while following proper safety procedures.
Verify customer receipts and ensure correct materials are loaded into vehicles.
Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory management.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
No prior experience required — we are willing to train the right candidate.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Experience with forklifts, order picking, or shipping/receiving is a plus.
