Today at 10 am for the last time Quilter's Haven will open its doors -- and at 5 PM for the last time it will close its doors. For many of us, the past 24 years have been filled with fabric, fun and friends - all centering around Quilter's Haven and the amazing atmosphere of creativity, inclusiveness and welcoming that its owner, Jean Graham filled that shop with.
She is the first to say how grateful she is for all of her customers, staff, teachers, and friends. But -- all of us -- her customers, staff, teachers and friends want her to know how GRATEFUL we are for her. She has inspired us. Helped us. Challenged us. Stood by us. She has always been there -- right there in Quilter's Haven. Waiting for us. Welcoming us.
While we are happy for her new adventures (and a bit sad for ourselves) -- I think the proper sentiment and send off is to THANK Jean for the many years she has given us and WISH HER WELL as she begins a well deserved era of enjoying her own creativity. (And...if you want to really help out - stop in today and buy, buy buy....she is no longer making money but let's do what we can to help her recoup - open 10-5 today).
I have been the person behind the camera in the Facebook live videos, the person behind the Facebook posts, the occasional person behind the counter helping you (with you usually helping me), the bag instructor back when live classes were a thing and a regular fixture at Quilter's Haven for 23 1/2 year. But TODAY I need to be out in front saying THANK YOU and WISHING YOU WELL, JEAN GRAHAM!
Please join me and share these sentiments with Jean -- she deserves our appreciation, gratitude and thanks.
