I then preserve dresses in a breathable box with acid free tissue paper and lavender. Fabric needs to breathe or it will discolor. You can also take dress out to wear for anniversaries and let your daughter grow up trying on your dress!

I cleaned a 92 year old Grandmotherā€™s dress that a friend of Brideā€™s help redesign. There was sweat & rust spots on the silk fabric so they tried spot cleaning it šŸ˜¬ Dry cleaning would not have gotten it clean or taken away the discoloration. I have been hand washing wedding dresses for over 50 years and I have lots of secret cleaning techniques that wonā€™t destroy the very old and very delicate fabric. Please bring vintage dresses to me 1st before drycleaning or experimenting on it šŸ˜‰.
