McNeil & Reedy opened in 1956 with a vision of providing men an experience unlike any other men’s store. James McNeil and partner, George Reedy started working together in the men’s section of a local department store. After learning from the best in Vermont at the time, James and George opened McNeil and Reedy, in its current Downtown Rutland, Vermont location. Identical twin brothers, James and

John McNeil, run the family shop today, ensuring the core values of McNeil and Reedy remain consistent with the original vision the shop was founded on. McNeil and Reedy carries full lines of casual, business and formal attire options. The shop’s casual attire changes with the seasons, with a focus on comfort and quality that will stand the test of time. We carry a broad range of suits, at various price points to ensure we have something for every customer. Our onsite tailors are here to guide you through the buying process and ensure the proper fit. We carry the largest selection of tuxedo options in Vermont and specialize in weddings and proms. The most important step in planning the formal wear for your event is communication and commitment.
