Last Wednesday, overlooking the ocean in Montauk, Jan Planit and I kicked off The Matriark Salon with Silicone Valley thought leaders Deborah Perry Piscione and Jeanmarie M. Labonte, and it was incredible.

The most amazing group of women came to listen, to ask questions, and above all to meet each other as we discuss our future in the world of AI and humanoids.

We had delicious bites and drinks, then Deborah and Jenamarie shared invaluable insights. And though we don’t have all the answers, it was a relief to share our concerns and exchange ideas on how to navigate these uncertain times in the company of so many cool, smart, and thoughtful women (well, and a few men too)

Thank you all who came, and a special thanks to our friends at Aplós and Plain-T.

More salons to come, so make sure to subscribe to THE MATRIARK NEWSLETTER to the receive invitations. Our next salon is on October 29th, so stay tuned for more.

Love ❤️

The fury. It’s been happening forever, again and again. How can we change this once and for all?

LIMINALITY. It’s the threshold, the in-between who you were and who you’re becoming.

We are never NOT in transition.

There is no finished, settled, arrived version of a life. There’s just the next threshold, and the one after that.

As a mother, an entrepreneur, and someone who has restructured my own life more than once,

I learned to accept it as the baseline condition of being alive, not as a problem to solve — and that made it less overwhelming.

I stopped dreading each transition as the scary unknown, and started accepting it as the bridge and connection I need to move forward.

That reframe changed everything for me 🙏

Transition isn’t the detour. It’s the bridge that gets you where you’re going.

I wrote all about it in this week’s Matriark newsletter

Gloria Steinem co-founded Ms. Magazine in 1972, giving women’s voices a mainstream platform when few believed one was needed. She helped organize the 1977 National Women’s Conference and co-founded the National Women’s Political Caucus, building the infrastructure that got women into rooms where decisions were made. For over five decades she showed up for reproductive rights, for equal pay, and for the simple, radical idea that a woman’s life belongs to her.

She never asked to be a symbol. She just kept doing the work, decade after decade, long after it stopped being fashionable and long before it was safe.

Thank you, Gloria for paving the road so many of us walk on. It is impossible not to feel the weight of losing a leader like this, especially now, when the world needs exactly her kind of clarity and courage.

We carry it forward ❤️

Research has found that nearly 8 out of 10 women have skipped an important life event like a party, a trip, a reunion because of how they felt about their bodies‼️

And if the invitation includes wearing a bathing suit, 1 in 2 women has turned that down entirely.

Welcome to summer… Pool parties, boat days, company retreats, lakeside picnics, and the bathing suit dread.

The truth is: swimsuits aren’t just exposing our bodies. They are exposing our relationship with our bodies that have been quietly shaped, since puberty, by an industry that profits from your dissatisfaction.

We loathe the dressing room because it forces us to evaluate our bodies the way we imagine others would — from the outside, as an object to be assessed. And the more revealing the garment, the higher the scrutiny.

The Dove Beauty Report found that 2 out of 3 women believe they’re expected to be more physically attractive than their mothers’ generation. 2 in 5 said they’d give up a year of their life for their ideal body. 😢

In this week’s newsletter, I’m sharing 4 things that actually help like the bathing suit fit, the method to shop from home, the reframing, the body neutrality, plus seven of my favorite bathing suits. Comment SUMMER and I’ll send you the link!

She left a 9-year marriage after meeting her soulmate.

Amber Rae’s story is one of the most honest, courageous, and deeply human conversations I’ve had on Matriark.

Amber grew up carrying wounds around love, safety, and belonging that quietly shaped every relationship she built as an adult. Before she could choose herself, she had to deconstruct all of it: the conditioning, the shame, the guilt, the deep-seated belief thatch wasn’t enough as she was. What came out the other side is Loveable — a USA Today bestselling memoir and such an important book written to give permission to live their true lives.

In this interview we cover everything: * How her childhood struggles shaped the way she loved, and why she had to unlearn it all * How she stumbled into becoming an author and built an extraordinary career helping writers find their voice, their story, and their audience (aspiring authors — this one’s for you) *The story behind leaving her 9-year marriage, how it unfolded, and why she has zero regrets * What it really means to be loveable

I had the most wonderful time with her. She is as warm, wise, and wonderfully unfiltered in person as she is in her book.

📍 TONIGHT THURSDAY 5/21— Amber and I are co-hosting an event with , , and at to benefit . Amber will be signing copies of Loveable and sitting down with Pamela Bell for a conversation you won’t want to miss.
